Hi Matt,

720 and 760 in fact do support USB headsets.
What headset model are you using and what firmware is running on the phone?

Great! I'm using a Plantronics BlackWire 720 with the snom 760.
Is there a setup process other than just plugging it in?
Do we need to plug it into a specific port?
Which headsets are known to be supported?

this is good news! :-)

Matt, is this Blackwire CS 620 or 720?

CS 620 I've just tested successfully with both 8.7.3.19 and 8.8.2.8. In these firmware versions no additional configuration (soundcard_event_map) is required. It's simply just plug it into one of the USB ports and start using it.

The CS 720 is fairly new and we haven't received a sample from Plantronics yet.
We are currently in the process of testing a bunch of headsets from Plantronics, GN Netcom and Sennheiser.
Once all tests have been completed we'll publish the interoperability in our wiki.

okay, i've test a plantronics uc voyager pro and audio does work.

-it seems like pressing the button on the uc voyager pro does not hangup a call if you did not answer a call using the button on the uc pro
-also, using the Mute button on the 760 is not working correct sometimes it mutes, sometimes it puts the volume at half, sometime it goes Mute then immediately unmutes again, the mute led is not always on when muted...

thanks

This sounds great! Does it mean that USB attached DECT headsets like Plantronics Savi W440 will work directly with the 720/760 and we do not need any EHS adapters for answer/hang up functionality witch DECT headsets anymore?

I am testing a Jabra 930 Pro on a Snom 720.

Basically, it is working, but I face the problem, that the headset takes about 2 seconds to be "on air". So after answering a call via the phone's headset button it takes about 2 seconds until the connection is established and the blue "connection button" on the headphone base is on. Before that I don't hear anything via the headphone - and I am not heard as well.

Connected to a PC no problem.

BTW - power-saving features on the headset are switched off.

Furthermore, the on-ear button cannot be used to answer or and a call.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Olaf

Hi,

bumping this thread and hoping for an answer.

I want to use a Plantronics Voyager Pro UC with a Snom 720. I am experiencing the same problem as mattlandis above, that I can pick up a call, have great audio but I can't hang up the call. The other person can hear a "click" from when I press the button on the headset but the call remains.

I checked the settings for the Voyager Pro on the wiki and they are fine. Firmware version of the phone is 8.7.3.19, Firmware of the Plantronics USB dongle is the latest.

Any  ideas how to make the headset hang up the call would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Michael

I just tested Plantronics SAVI 430 today, and it remains to demonstrate the problems of all the devices above:

-hook button will not hangup a call

-crackly and poor audio
